At Naveya & Sloane our designs are crafted to order, so we like to know a little about you or the person this piece is for so that we can discuss the design, budget and timeframe that best suits you. We will show you through our Signature Collection and can also speak about our Bespoke Service if this is of interest. We will give you education around diamonds and precious metals to help you make an informed decision and we can then proceed to view diamond or gemstones depending on your preferences.
If you are from out of Auckland and visiting us may be difficult, we frequently work with clients from a distance so can arrange a virtual consultation or liaise over email to guide you through our process.
We offer a Virtual Experience for those who are unable to make it to our Auckland showroom. This is very similar to what you would experience in the showroom and our design consultants are experts at catering to our global customers.

Just yourself, but if you have any inspiration of designs or images your partner has hinted to you please have these ready on your phone.
The gemstone viewing is an exciting process that not all jewellers offer, so we think this is a truly magical step in creating your special piece. If you are unable to visit our showroom for a diamond/gemstone viewing we can do this via video chat or with beautiful videos and photos. Your consultant will have chosen the very best options for you based on your design and preferences.
We can hold diamonds/gemstones on site for 7 days, (they are ordered in just for you) so it is good to be aware that when you get to this stage you will need to be ready to put a deposit down if you’d like to secure your favourite option.
In New Zealand, engagement ring designs range from the classic solitaire, showcasing a single magnificent diamond, to the intricate vintage styles that capture the romance of bygone eras. Contemporary tastes are met with modern halo designs, where a central stone is encircled by a constellation of smaller gems, adding to the splendour of the piece.
We have a range of designs that you can choose from in our Signature Collection and we also offer a Bespoke Service so your design consultant can help guide you to create a special piece that will align with your taste and preferences.
Our bespoke service starts at $4,000.
Most of our engagement pieces are made to order, so once you’ve chosen the perfect ring, our artisans will begin crafting, especially for you! This takes around 6-10 weeks depending on the design and we’ll keep you updated with our progress along the way.
If you’re working to a slightly tighter timeframe, just let us know, we love a challenge and will do everything we can to work to your timeline.
Traditionally, an engagement ring is worn on the ring finger of the left hand. However, in some cultures, like in India, it is worn on the right hand. This tradition dates back to ancient Egypt and Rome, but nowadays it mostly comes down to personal preference.
That’s a goodie! Here’s some tips which have been tried and tested by many of our clients:
1. Sneak a ring they wear often and take a photo of it over a ruler so we can see the inside diameter, then let us know which finger they wear it on.
2. Send us an image of them with a drink in their hand, and we can give it a good guess, we’ve got a pretty good eye for these things.
3. Go for our ladies average size - it’s a pretty safe bet too.
Chances are we can get close and if it’s not 100% right, we do offer one complimentary resize on your engagement ring.
We work with clients all over the world! You can meet with one of our design consultants virtually or we can liaise over email, whatever is easiest for you. Rest assured we will do everything we can to help you feel confident making your purchase from afar and our design consultants are experts at catering to our global customers.
We sure do! We specialise in natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and gemstones. Our knowledgeable team can provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision for your perfect centre stone. We will work with you to bring your vision to life within your budget - the outcome: a beautifully designed, heirloom-quality piece.
We work with 18K Red Gold, 18K Yellow Gold, 18K White Gold and Platinum. Please see here for our page on, 'how to choose the right precious metal for you.'
We love to work with Rubies and Sapphires (which some people may not know come in all colours of the rainbow!). These gemstones are the most durable for pieces that you will wear everyday, such as an engagement ring. Other gemstones can be very soft so will ideally need to be set into a design that takes their characteristics into consideration to ensure the gemstone is well-protected, so just let us know your thoughts and we can dream ideas up together!
Nothing, we will teach you everything you need to know!
Our diamonds and gemstones are sourced from a range of trusted local and international suppliers that adhere to the Kimberley process. All of our materials are ethically sourced. Some of our precious metal is recycled which is great for our environment!
In terms of payment options, we generally take payment in full but we can offer a 50/50 split payment where you pay a minimum 50% deposit to begin the crafting process for your special piece and then the balance is due once your jewellery is complete.
You can pay via credit card, eftpos and online banking. We do not hold any cash on-site, so if you would like to pay with cash you can take the cash directly to the bank and deposit it into our account. We do not accept cheques.
In terms of finance options, you can read more about what we offer here.
Yes we do, they can be purchased at any value and make a great gift! We can arrange a physical voucher wrapped up beautifully or a digital voucher. :)

Unfortunately not, sorry! We cannot tell the make up of precious metal not supplied through our trusted suppliers and we don't have the facilities to refine precious metal onsite.
We can sometimes work with heirloom diamonds/gemstones if it is something that has been passed through the family and/or of sentimental value to you. We do have criteria these gemstones must meet for us to work with them and this is for the safety of your precious heirloom. If it is a newly purchased loose stone then we are unable to work with it.
We do not rework precious metal from other jewellery but we are happy to reuse diamonds or gemstones from existing pieces and craft them into something new given they meet our heirloom criteria.
You are most welcome to send us your beautiful jewellery following the instructions on our service page here. To ensure it is covered under our insurance, please share the tracking details with our team. A standard service takes about 10 working days and we will get in touch when your jewellery arrives and when it is ready to be sent back to you.
You can bring your N&S jewellery in person or you can send it to us following the instructions here and let us know what has happened. Our jewellers will assess your jewellery and we will contact you to talk over any work required.
Between professional cleans, you can enhance your jewellery’s brilliance by cleaning it gently with a soft toothbrush and a mixture of warm water and dishwashing liquid. From there, rinse your jewellery, place it on a clean cloth and use a hairdryer to dry and remove any residue.
Ultrasonic cleaners can damage many gemstones and we advise avoiding this method for at-home care. You can bring your N&S jewellery to us for a quick clean and this takes about 5-10 minutes while you wait.
Over time you can choose to have your jewellery re-polished to bring back the shine of the precious metal. We recommend doing this no more than once or twice every five years. If it is done too frequently the jewellery can be prematurely worn away. You can read more about our Care Guide here and our service offering here.
Absolutely! If you’re ever around Auckland city you can get in touch with us to come into the showroom so we can give your N&S jewellery a quick clean, which normally takes about 5-10 minutes while you wait.
We also encourage you to bring your Naveya & Sloane back to us every couple of years for a professional clean and service. You can read more about our service offering here.
It is important to examine your jewellery often to make sure the settings are tight and secure. Claw settings are particularly vulnerable. If any loose settings are discovered please contact the Naveya & Sloane team at info@naveyasloane.com to arrange for your jewellery to be professionally inspected and cared for. You can read more about our service offering here.
We recommend removing your jewellery when participating in sports or recreational activities, heavy lifting or cleaning. When force is applied to the metal and settings, damage and deformations can occur. Chemicals and harmful fluids such as those found in household cleaning products can also damage the gemstones and precious metals. You can read more about recommendations to care for your N&S jewellery here.
To maintain the beauty of your jewellery on a day to day basis, we recommend you to avoid any material which can form a film around the gemstone and precious metal. For example; saltwater, moisturisers, hairspray, soaps or similar substances. These films will make your jewellery appear dull and lifeless. You can read more about how to care for your N&S jewellery here.
Of course! We highly recommend you bring your Naveya & Sloane jewellery back for any resizes. For an engagement ring, the first resize is complimentary. Additional resizes for an engagement ring and resizes for any wedding band or fine collection piece will come with a charge. The cost will depend on the precious metal and the size difference, please get in touch with us if you’d like a quote to resize your N&S piece!
In the case where you need a ring size adjusted please note that a faint line can sometimes be visible at the join.
Absolutely! We can liaise with our recommended jewellery valuer on your behalf or you can take your jewellery directly to the Jewellery Valuers Company. These valuations remain in our system so we can send you a digital copy of an existing valuation if you need it (purchases from 2017 onwards we have the valuation records for).
Engagement ring designs will come with a complimentary valuation, which is completed by a trusted independent valuer.
For any other jewellery, we will offer a complimentary valuation if the value of the design is over $5000NZD, as most insurance companies will only require an individual valuation for pieces over this value. If you would like a valuation done for your piece, please let your design consultant know and we can arrange this for you for an additional fee.
This is completely up to you! We find most clients will use their house and contents insurance. You can provide a copy of your invoice for wedding bands or the valuation for your engagement ring. If it is a high-value piece you may like to list it individually but your insurance provider should give you advice based on the value of your jewellery.
We would be happy to help you replace your lost item, whether the original piece was from us or not. If it was from N&S just get in touch and we can provide the details to your insurance company for you. Once your coverage has been approved the insurance company will generally pay for the current replacement value of the piece to be replaced and we can craft you a brand new one. If you would like to explore an upgrade or design change just let your design consultant know and they can work through the process with you.
